Detoxification

At Stillpoint Family Health Services (SFHS), we see wellness as dependent upon the whole body functioning properly. Whatever your health symptoms, toxins present in your system can prevent your body from functioning properly and healing. You may need to undergo a gentle detox before your health issue can be fully resolved. Detoxing, or the systematic removal of potentially toxic substances from the body, is an important tool at SFHS in helping the body to normalize and heal quickly.

Depending on the individual, some gentle testing may be necessary to discern the amount and type of detoxification needed. In choosing a course of detoxification, SFHS uses one or a combination of three detox therapies: first, with an environmental detox, we look at your physical environment, such as possible exposure to pollution and chemicals in your home or workplace. Second, endogenous toxins which are produced inside the body are looked at such as free radicals. Thirdly, a spiritual or emotional detox can be used. Although most of the time all three strategies are done simultaneously, or one can lead spontaneously to another. Whenever possible, we will instruct you on safe, low-tech detoxification methods that can be done at home, enabling you more self-control over your healthcare, and educating you on simple methods that can be used anytime in the future without necessitating a doctor’s visit.
